3ª Energía de ionización

La tercera energía de ionización representa la energía necesaria para arrancar un electrón a un ion dipositivo y su valor es siempre mayor que el correspondiente de la segunda energía de ionización, ya que el volumen de un ión dipositivo es menor que el del ion monopositico y la fuerza electrostática es mayor en el ión dipositivo que en el monopositivo correspondiente, ya que se conserva la misma carga nuclear:
