Birrefrigencia de la calcita. En este video se muestra que un rayo luminoso al pasar a través de un medio isotrópico, vidrio en este caso, no presenta ningún cambio al observador. Al cambiar el vidrio por un cristal de calcita ( uniaxial) se observan dos rayos que son mutuamente perpendiculares entre sí
